Sunday, Jan. 15th

Today is our last full day in Thailand, hard to believe our vacation is coming to an end. Spoke to several people during our trip and most said that if you have a short time in Bangkok the "Grand Palace" is a must see. So off to the Grand Palace we go. Thailand_Vietnam_657.jpgWe took the Airport Link to the end of the line and then a Tuk Tuk to the Grand Palace. You are not permitted to where shorts or capris in the palace. They rent pants for the men and sarongs for women, both Ron and I had to rent, actually Ron bought his. Thailand_Vietnam_676.jpg It was breathtakingly beautiful. We rented a guided audio tour that toured us through the Palace which took a couple of hours to go through. We saw the Emerald Buddha, we couldn't take pictures in the temple. Ron and I were surprised when we saw the Emerald Buddha, we both thought the whole Buddha was emerald, and it was just the Buddha's face.

Left the Grand Palace and walked down to the Chao Phraya River and took a long tailed boat back to the train station. Got back to the hotel and had a little nap, cleaned up and checked out and made our way to the airport for our trip home.Thailand_Vietnam_733.jpg

Our flight leaves at midnight. We're not looking forward to the long trip home.Thailand_Vietnam_741.jpg
